San Diego is summer concert central and people flock to parks, beaches, and outdoor amphitheatres to take in the local sounds of musicians and singers.  With free summer concerts peppered all over the county, there are many options and styles to choose from.  The granddaddy of them all, Balboa Park’s summer concert series, Twilight in the Park, opens Tuesday, June 19.

Twilight in the Park concerts fill the Spreckels Organ Pavilion every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings (through August 30) from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The concerts offer a diverse selection of performers.  Some of San Diego’s favorite bands will hit the stage for lively sing-along opportunities of rock, country, Motown, R&B, and oldies hits from the past half century.

Don’t forget a blanket, picnic basket and your favorite four-legged friend.  There is plenty of space to spread out and nosh on snacks, and the venue is dog-friendly!  Enjoy live music every week…each show is free!

The Twilight in the Park will run from June 19 – August 30 at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion.  Shows will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.  The Spreckels Organ Pavilion is located at 1549 El Prado #10 in Balboa Park.  For more information, visit balboapark.org.
